1.0 Purpose 
 
 The purpose of this procedure is to establish the process for cleaning the magnet mounted at the
 outlet valve on the bottom of the blender. 
 
 2.0 Scope 
 
 This procedure applies to the cleaning of the magnet used as part of the blender(s) at Ion Labs,
 Inc. 
 
 3.0 Responsibility 
 
 3.1 It is the responsibility of all blending personnel to follow this procedure.
 
 3.2 It is the responsibility of QC to inspect and ensure that this procedure is being followed.
 
 3.3. It is the responsibility of Maintenance and Production Management to keep this
 
 procedure aligned with current practices.

 6.1 Do not remove magnet from the blender outlet valve until all product has been removed

 from the blender. 
 
 6.2 Obtain the blue magnet cleaning waste bin and cleaning tool before removal of the
 
 magnet from the blender. Wipe the bin out with a rag to ensure it is clean and clear of any
 dirt and debris. 
 
 6.3 QC to be called to witness the magnet removal by the blending team. The blending team
 will clean the magnet and allow the QC to collect any metal that has been captured. Metal
 
 will be delivered to Quality Management to determine if further action is needed.
 
 6.4 Grab the magnet by the handle ONLY and slide it out of the bracket located under the
 outlet valve of the blender. 
 
 6.5 Place the magnet inside the blue magnet cleaning waste bin. 
 
 6.6 Slide the cleaning tool down each tube on the magnet. When the tool reaches the bottom
 
 of each tube, spin the tool to ensure that any metal that may be present on each tube, will
 fall off into the blue magnet cleaning waste bin. 
 
 6.7 Carefully inspect magnet and remove any trace amounts of metal that may remain.
 
 6.8 When all metal has been removed from the magnet, be sure to clean the magnet.
 
 6.8.1 If build up is present, you can use a mild soap or degreaser to clean and rinse the
 
 magnet. 
 
 6.8.2 Rinse with potable water to remove soap and loosened debris. 
 
 6.8.3 Sanitize with approved sanitizer. 
 
 6.8.4 Clean, rinse, and sanitize the blue magnet cleaning waste bin and the magnet
 
 cleaning tool to ensure it is clean and ready for the next use.
 
 6.8.5 Store the magnet, blue waste bin, and the magnet cleaning tool until the major is
 
 complete. 
 
 6.9 Once the room and blender have been majored and signed, return the magnet to the

 blender room. 
 
 6.9.1 Before reinstalling the magnet QC needs to inspect the magnet and make note of
 
 the magnet being clean and ready for reinstall on the bottom of the blender outlet
 valve. 
 
 6.10 Grab the magnet by the handle ONLY and slide it back into the bracket located under the
 outlet valve of the blender. Ensure the magnet cleaning waste bin and the cleaning tool
 
 are stored away until needed.
