 61111 Cleanlimess = When practical, alll associated buffers, samples and wares will be
 held wimtil after the experiment is complete and results have been reviewed. All
 personnel should clean up after the closing ofeach experiment. Dirty wares can

 61122 Throughout the day, proper disposal of laboratory waste, wiping contamimated
 surfaces, and retuming unused reagents and supplies to their proper storage area
 should be practiced fastidiously. 
 
 61133 Equipment usage = Instrumemits need to be properly cleaned, shut down, and/or
 put on stamdipy after each use when appropriate. Instrument surfaces should be
 maintained free of any dust or chemical residue. 
 6.1133.1 HPLC colunmms sinoulld be washed them preserved im am appropriate
 storage buffer before removing from the system. 
 
 6.11322 When applicable, lamps should be tumed off if they are not being used
 for short periods (i.e. overnight) and equipment should be shut down as
 applicable for extended periods (i.e. weekends and holidays).
 611333 The biological containment hood will be samitized before each use by
 asapiicdlly wiping intemal surfaces with, 70% IPA and drying before
 use. At the end of each use, the surfaces willl be sanitized by wiping
 
 with 70% IPA, closing the hood to tum off the blower, then activating
 the UV lamp for 15 minutes. 
 611334 Cleaning of the autoclave is outlined im SOP D-824 Operation and
 Cleaning of the MI 1 Autoclave. 
 
 61144 Trash/irefuse needs to be disposed ofas quiickly as possible after generation. All
 non-shamps and non-biological materials can be disposed of in general waste.

 63311 The @€ Laboratory floors should be cleaned weekly at a minimum using a mop
 
 and an approved cleaning solution.

 644111 Food, beverages, gum, candy, breath mints, or tobacco products are not allowed
 in the laboratory areas at any time. 
 6422 Lab safety eyewear at a mininmum are required when working in the lab.
 
 64833 All signage must be followed whem entering the lalb or lay subsections (i.e
 micro.) 
 6444 If performing tests that require specialized PPE, the PPE required must be wom
 while the experiment is in process. Other individuals that are working in the
 surrounding areas sinoulld be notified of amy risks associated with exposure and
 may need to wear appropriate PPE as well. 
 
 64455 Laboratory coats exposed to laboratory chemicals should be processed through
 the laundry service immediately.
